Robotics Club-BUBOTICS
The word robot in Czech language means worker or servant. This word 'robot' was first used by Czech novelist Karel Capek in a play titled Rassum's Universal Robots (RUR) in 1920. A robot can be defined as a reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools or specialized devices through variable programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks. The robot industry entered a phase of rapid growth in 1980s.Many Institutions started introducing programs and courses in robotics since then. Robotics courses encompass multi discipline as spread across Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering departments.
Hence the knowledge base for Robotics covers multi disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.Industries that have been using Robots are : Agriculture, Automobile, Construction, Entertainment, Hospitals, Patient-care, Surgery, Research, Laboratories, Surveillance, Manufacturing, Mining, Excavation, Exploration, Transportation, Warehouses, Utilities etc.Robots are utilized in Industries for the applications like: Material Handling, Material Transfer, Machine Loading and Unloading, Spot Welding, Continuous Arc Welding, Spray Coating, Assembly, Inspection etc.
In our college, a robotics club in the name of BUBOTICS has been formed with a view to provide students scope of exploring this technical domain for their respective value addition which not only help them to build their own respective distinct identification but also help them to earn respect from potential employer in the job market.
Moreover, students can make useful, practical and innovative project out of the acquired knowledge from this domain which may be continued to fulfill their final year project or may be submitted for patenting.
