VISION AND MISSION OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Mechanical Engineering Department should be recognized for imparting outstanding education leading to well-qualified engineers who will be innovative, entrepreneurial and successful in the field of their professional activities.
- Imparting quality education to the students and enhancing their skills to make them highly competitive among students from other institutes.
- To inculcate amongst students qualities of leadership, team work, professional ethics, safety practices and help them acquiring the skill of lifelong learning.
- To achieve international standards to fulfill the goals of government’s “Make in India” industrial policy through research & innovation.
- To provide facilities for interacting with leading industries and educational institutions for excellence in consulting, teaching and research activities
- To provide facilities for interacting with leading industries and educational institutions for excellence in consulting, teaching and research activities.
Most of the industries cannot be thought without the application of Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineers work in almost every technical fields including aerospace, automotive, biomedical engineering, computer aided design, energy and environment systems. The study of this discipline involves creative application of strong scientific and mathematical basis to the design of safe, reliable and environmentally sound and cost effective systems. Type of course offered at BUIE in Mechanical engineering is UG. The total number of students is 109 up to 2nd year. The number of teaching staffs is 07 and non teaching staffs are 05 in number. Existing facilities such as Lab, Lab equipments which are very important for an engineering course like Mechanical Engineering are well established.
PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs):
PEO 1: To provide the students with strong understanding and knowledge of basic sciences and engineering coupled with contemporary skills in the areas of Mechanical Engineering to achieve professional excellence.
PEO 2: To enable students to carry out higher education and quality technological research & development keeping pace with the emerging technological trends throughout their career, either in industry, academics or in entrepreneurship.
PEO 3: To nurture a sense of responsibility, professionalism, team work and ethical values thereby developing skills in, management and leadership to enable functioning coherently and effectively in multi-disciplinary contexts.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs):
