DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Electrical Engineering Department has been established in 2006 in BUIE (Estd.in 1998)with a bunch of young talented and experienced faculty. The department is well equipped with laboratories like POWER SYSTEMS (I,II & III),MACHINES (I,II & III),POWER ELECTRONICS, ELECTRICAL DRIVES,CONTROL SYSTEMS,CIRCUITS & NETWORKS, MACHINE DESIGN etc. The department is having a pool of talented Technical Assisstants who along with Faculty not only guide students for execution of experiments at different labs but also help them in understanding technology during Industrial Tours to different Indutries etc.
The electrical engineering being a core branch of engineering, it is well connected with all other branch of engineering acquiring VERSATILE ENGINEERING EXPERTISENESS to meet the SOCIAL NEED, particularly in the present scenario where GLOBE is in CRISIS OF ENERGY and under ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION posing threat to the ECOLOGY and propagation of human life and CREATURES in general. Thus the UTLIZATION of ELECTRIC ENERGY & POWER is to be VERY CAUTIOS, JUDICIOUS and EFFICIENT, where generation of energy has to be environmental friendly but the globe is running out of the natural fuel. Thus pressure has come up to generation energy from non-conventional energy sources like Solar, Hydel, Tidal etc. systems including ARTIFICAL FUELS. Here, the electrical engineering as a need of the hour explores all these important subjects of UTILAZATION OF ELECTRIC ENERGY, POWER GENERATION from NON-CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCES like SOLAR ENERGY including TIDAL POWER & WIND POWER efficient power generation, transmission and distribution with OPTIMAL CONTROL & SCADA system, added with power electronics, control & drives, minimization of the loss of power & energy & satisfactorily all kind of needs to the industry and society.
Moreover the electrical department is in the process of introducing PG courses shortly by way of academic advancements, laboratory development, faculty developments, organizing training, seminars, projects and conferences, leading to increased employability of the students and professional skill development.
To produce undergraduates, postgraduates, doctorates of Electrical engineering by building strong teaching and research environment in the department whose ethical and significant contribution to the society will help socio-economic growth of the locality and the country as a whole.
To produce highly qualified, versatile and motivated graduates possessing fundamental knowledge of Electrical Engineering who would be able to provide leadership to the country and rest of the world either as professional Electrical Engineer or as academician through higher studies. To promote excellence in teaching, research, collaborative activities with the industry and ethical contribution to the society as a whole.
