Established in 1998, Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering (BUIE) stands as a beacon of technical education in the economically backward region of Bankura, located just 4 km from the district town, at Pohabagan.

Our institution was founded by the Bankura Unnayani Society, a registered body comprised of dedicated educationists and social activists, with the mission to disseminate technical education in the Jangal Mahal area, encompassing parts of Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, West Midnapur, and neighboring states like Jharkhand, Bihar, and Orissa.

BUIE is proud to have received the prestigious TEQIP-II project, an initiative of the World Bank under the MHRD, which has significantly enhanced our educational infrastructure.

We offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology.

Additionally, we provide postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering (VLSI).

Our state-of-the-art laboratories and well-stocked library ensure that students have access to all necessary resources without the need for additional book purchases.

Our students have secured placements in various government departments, banks, multinational corporations both in India and abroad, and many have gone on to serve as faculty members in prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs.

Our faculty members bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their teaching, ensuring a high-quality education for our students.

We pride ourselves on offering affordable tuition fees, subsidized food and hostel facilities, and a no-donation admission policy.

Our placement services are free of charge, and we facilitate industrial training, soft skills development, and other aptitude skills training to enhance job opportunities for our students.

We extend robust support for research and provide access to various government and private scholarships, including student credit cards for eligible students.
